Sleep and Insomnia

Healthy sleep has been linked to a host of health benefits, including better memory, emotional regulation, and a reduced risk of chronic disease. Yet, getting to sleep and staying asleep can be challenging, especially as we age.

This webinar compares normal age-related changes in sleep to the abnormal condition of insomnia. You will learn how sleep changes as we age and how this leads to shorter sleep, changes in sleep cycles, less efficient sleep, increased naps, and more nocturnal awakenings. We will also discuss risk factors for insomnia, including the genetic, environmental, social, and psychological factors that make you more prone to this condition.

You will also learn nine strategies for improving your sleep and the latest scientific recommendations related to prescription-based and over-the-counter sleeping remedies, giving you practical steps you can take right away for a better night’s rest.

This class will be recorded and a one-week link to the recording will be shared with all registered participants. Attend the live session or listen to the recording within one week to receive incentive points.
