Political polarization can have destructive effects on families, work relationships, and friendships. Join Bill Doherty, Ph.D., as he describes the Braver Angels approach toward navigating political differences with people in your personal and professional life. Braver Angels, a nationwide nonprofit organization, is dedicated to helping individuals bridge political divides without compromising their core values and beliefs.

Professor Emeritus William J. Doherty taught marriage and family therapy for 38 years in the Department of Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota. Following the 2016 U.S. presidential election, he co-founded Braver Angels, a citizen initiative to counteract political polarization and restore the fraying social fabric in American society. Among his many awards is the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Family Therapy Academy.
