A Comprehensive Approach to High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, affects nearly half of American adults. If left untreated, high blood pressure can lead to many adverse health effects, including heart attack, kidney disease, and stroke. Because the symptoms of high blood pressure are hard to detect, it is sometimes called the “silent killer.”

In this noontime webinar, you will learn about the evolving definition of what constitutes high blood pressure and explore non-drug strategies that can be combined with medications to effectively manage this disease. New research indicates that health risks can be significantly reduced through intensive blood pressure control, but meeting these goals is often a challenge.

This class will present a recommended model of chronic disease care for hypertension, which includes team-based care, telehealth, a shift towards self-management, full use of health behavior changes, and use of home blood pressure monitoring. You will walk away with a better understanding of high blood pressure and new tools to help you proactively manage this condition.

This class will be recorded and a one-week link to the recording will be shared with all registered participants. Attend the live session or listen to the recording within one week to receive incentive points.
