Get support from BeWell and HIP after you retire
We offer health promotion benefits to retirees because we know that your wellness needs don’t end when your employment does. Stanford provides detailed information about retiree qualifications and benefits in “When Employment Ends: Retirement”: http://benefits.stanford.edu/resources/when-employment-ends-retirement.
Retirees can use the recreation (fitness) facilities at no cost and should present a retiree card that can be issued by the badging office located at the Stanford ID Card Office (Tresidder Union at 459 Lagunita Drive, 2nd floor, next to the Ticket Office) — open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Retirees are eligible for reduced $30.00 fitness classes through the Health Improvement Program (HIP). To redeem this discount:
- On the HIP website, register and pay for the class at full price.
- Email HIP at email@example.com to request a refund.
- HIP will then issue a refund for any amount paid over the discounted rate.
Retirees may participate in HIP’s Healthy Living (non-fitness) classes on a space-available basis, at up to a 50% discount.
Retirees may also take Stanford Recreation & Wellness fitness classes, but no discounts are available.
Retirees also have access to the Faculty Staff Help Center.
