Sit and Stand Comfortably at Your Computer Station

Do you put up with nagging tension or discomfort while working? Even minor tension, if ignored, can contribute to repetitive strain injury or neck and shoulder pain. The way you use your workstation can make all the difference.

In this online class, you will learn to recognize some common bad habits and gain insights into better choices on how to sit and stand more comfortably. We will move past a basic checklist and focus on work-related test movements that show you how comfortable you can feel while sitting and standing. You will come away with strategies to support continuous comfort while working and identify at least one persistent problem at your current workstation where improvements can be made.

This class includes a 30-minute 1:1 consultation with the instructor over Zoom for customized help at your home or office workstation. Scheduling details will be sent with your class confirmation. All individual sessions must be completed by August 11.

Instructor: Jean Elvin, MFA, GCFP, is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, with special training for repetitive strain, back, neck, and shoulder issues as well as professional ergonomic experience. She has a cooperative relationship with Stanford Ergonomics and the Department of Environmental Health & Safety.
