Quick Bytes: Transformative Conversations

February 21, 2023 | 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Have you ever left a fraught conversation feeling illuminated and expanded? Any conversation in the classroom, and in life, has the potential to transform our fundamental attitudes about people and the world towards greater shared understanding and interconnection.

Often, however, this doesn’t happen because people are uncomfortable voicing their honest views, or don’t know how to disagree with one another productively. As a result, conversations end up being polite and superficial, or divisive and upsetting. Join us to practice a conversational method developed by Stanford researchers that aims to make discussions enriching and transformative for those who have them.
